Balboa Park is a special place for many reasons. Located in San Diego, California, it is one of the largest urban parks in the United States and is recognized by its stunning architecture, colorful and bright gardens, and historical museums. The most iconic attractions and some of my personal favorite things to experience include visiting the world famous San Diego Zoo, touring the diverse collection of museums, visiting the Rose Gardens in the Spring months (April-June), and walking the meandering pathways and finding total calm at the Japanese Friendship Gardens
Be sure to visit the diverse collection of museums. A few of my favorites and the most popular museums include the San Diego Natural History Museum, Air & Space Museum, Museum of Us, Museum of Photographic Art, Timken Museum, Museum of Art, and more. San Diego Residents are able to access specific museums for free on Tuesdays. Check this link here for the Resident Free Tuesdays schedule Resident Free Days
Inez Grant Rose Gardens - Balboa Park Collection
In spring, the Inez Grant Memorial Rose Garden is visually stunning and a glorious beautiful and peaceful two acre public garden popular with both locals and visitors alike. Experience the winding pathways, tranquil fountains, and stunning panoramic views. I've found the two roses with the most luxurious fragrance are Double Delight and Sugar Moon. Be sure to stop and smell the roses.
